st. patrick's day weekend

It's already Monday again, which stinks. We has a really strange weekend, weather wise anyway... Saturday was 70 degrees and sunny. Jason shot some photos for Creative Sweet and we spent the windy afternoon roaming the local downtown area. We found an art gallery and gift shop that we never knew existed and learned that a revitalization project is underway for the area, which includes a lot of local events that we are definitely planning to attend!

So much wind!
Literally before we left for downtown I was telling Jason that I wish our square wasn't so empty - that there were cafes, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, shops, all of the things we see in bigger cities and it was so great to hear that all of those things are in the works! The 'buy local' movement is alive, well, and growing!

We woke up Sunday morning not only to rain, but also a major temperature drop. We both had work to do, so we spent the morning trying to wait out the rain before running errands. Topping my to-do list (of non-work things) for no reason other than they sounded good: making green cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day!

If we had kids they would either think this was really cool, or really lame. We didn't really do anything special for St. Patrick's Day - no green beer, no crazy drinking with friends. I did wear green jeans and make green cupcakes, and uh, Jason wore a green shirt. I think we shamed our Irish ancestors this year, whoops! Maybe next year!
