weekend plans, beauty products, and baby news!

After spending last Saturday in my hometown for my grandmother's birthday and some exciting baby news (more on that in a minute,) Sunday preparing for and hosting our Super Bowl party, and then working all week we were more than ready for this weekend. We had plans to head into Louisville for the afternoon, have lunch with some friends, do a little shopping at Whole Foods & Trader Joe's since we don't have them locally, and head back for a quiet evening at home.

We ended up having drinks with friends, doing a little more shopping than anticipated, having dinner before we left, and not getting home until late. Regardless of the fact that our plans ran quite a bit later than we intended, we had a lot of fun. It was nice to get out of the house and to pick up a few things I've wanted/needed including some LUSH King of Skin body butter (winter is killing my skin) and Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette (after Jason told me I've had my Jemma Kidd palette "forever" recently.)

If you were wondering: LUSH's body butter is incredible!!
Not to mention, we got so much delicious food and juice at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Naked Juice's Green Machine is my new absolute favorite juice, I can't believe it took my so long to try it, and I bought a giant bottle in Whole Foods. If you've been hesitant because of its appearance, give it a shot! I also bought a big bottle of Blue Machine and I hope it's just as good.

As for this cloudy, rainy Sunday... Jason has been working, but I on the other hand have been browsing the internet for baby shower and gift ideas. Not only am I going to be an aunt again because my sister is expecting her second little one this summer, BUT my brother and his future wife announced last weekend that they are expecting their first baby in the fall! Babies all around! (Except in our house because we don't need those for some years. Norah is more than enough.)

I'm not sure what my sister is planning for baby number two, but I do know that my sister-in-law to-be is a huge wildlife/woodland critters fan and that is likely the way she and my brother will theme their babe's room. I've already found the cutest onesies, burp cloths, hats, bibs, art prints, etc. on Etsy and can't wait to get more specifics from her so I can start ordering things. I've found lots of great shower ideas on Pinterest as well, so I really hope I'll be able to either throw her shower or help out later this year.

How precious is this little deer hat with antlers?
We've also been watching re-runs of The Walking Dead all day, well at least letting it play in the background while we are working/writing/browsing/teasing the cat, in anticipation of its return tonight. To say we're excited is an understatement, this show is incredible and these winter hiatuses are no fun. Fellow Walking Dead fans, you know what I'm talking about! Only a few more hours to go!

Happy Weekend!

  1. Sooooo with you on Walking Dead.............

  2. Congrats on being an aunt again (x2)! So exciting that your sister and sister-in-law are both expecting!
