2012, where did you go?

We rang in this past year among friends -playing board games, sipping wine, and watching the ball drop in NYC. The last twelve months have brought on so many changes and experiences, I can't believe time has passed so quickly.

Days after celebrating the new year I sat listening to my boyfriend playing songs by some of our favorite bands -Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Mumford & Sons, and Neutral Milk Hotel- on his acoustic guitar as I read John Green's Looking For Alaska. In a few short weeks we were engagement ring shopping (!!!) and then celebrating Valentine's Day. I even knew Jason bought a ring, but felt a bit defeated when I was told "You won't be getting it for a while."

I was completely shocked, surprised, and absolutely elated when he proposed at the end of April! That moment, that night, easily the most incredible moment of the year, and one that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Christmas Day 2012

I turned 25 and got braces, something else I don't think I will forget about anytime soon, ha! This past summer, like many people, I was obsessed with the Olympic games for the first time ever. Not only did I see Old Crow Medicine show for the first time, but when we ventured to Nashville in the fall I bought tickets for another first of mine: seeing Minus The Bear live! (Cursive too, but I was way more excited for MTB.) We've spent weekends watching football, in the stands and from our couch. We've eaten at some excellent restaurants and cooked some amazing meals at home. We've attended countless birthday parties, friend and family events, and celebrated so many wonderful occasions. And, I'm looking forward to doing it all again next year!
