deck the halls!

Thanksgiving came and went quickly, of course the holiday with the best food is a whirlwind. It was great for us to spend time with both of our families over the long weekend, and that's something I am looking forward to next month as well! This is one of my favorite times of year -I love holiday decorations, holiday food, and gift giving. (I feel like it's worth noting: I do not love Christmas music or A Christmas Story.)

We shopped, we cleaned, and I did a few crafts this past weekend all in an effort to get our apartment decorated appropriately. I love all of our winter/holiday decorations and can't wait to get a few more gifts wrapped and under the tree! Here's a peek at a few decorations around the apartment:

New dining set! We opted to buy this instead of upgrading our tree.

Last year with our little tree!
Yes, Norah has her own stocking :)

You may have noticed that I have quite a few homemade snow globes around the apartment (supplies above) they are such a fun and easy craft, plus they're really cute! I even gave one to my mom and she loved it! I'm out of mason jars for the second time, so once I have a few more of the large ones I'll probably use up the last of my miniature trees.

I also made the this pom wreath for our kitchen (top photo, far left wreath) and am considering taking on this ruffle tree skirt to drape over the little box our tree sits on (and for our normal sized tree that we will have next year!) There are so many great holiday crafts on Pinterest, from blogs all over the web, and I love that I've run across so many good ones. Have you done any DIY/craft projects for the holiday season? Please share!

Side note and special shout out to Norah: Thank you kitty for not caring about the tree for the second year in a row! I'm seeing too many photos of cats in trees, knocking trees over, and destroying ornaments and I am so happy that her level of curiosity was at its highest when the tree was removed from the box and she thought the box was for her.
